This cam is specifically engineered for 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, and 6.0L engines that are equipped with cathedral port heads. With a duration of 214/222 and a lift of .550/.550, paired with a 108 LSA and 106 ICL, the CHOPacabra is built for performance between 1200-6500 RPM. For optimal performance and compatibility, a desired compression ratio of 9.5:1 or higher is recommended, and GM LS6 Beehive Valve Springs are the specified requirement. Testing has shown the CHOPacabra camshaft to provide a power increase of 67 horsepower and 26 ft-lbs of torque at the crank. The product is noted for its great drivability, which is complemented by its signature aggressive chop. The dyno test motor specifications used for validation included a stock Gen IV 5.3L engine with stock 862 heads, GM LS6 Valve Springs, and a TBSS intake manifold.
