The Bald Eagle camshaft by Texas Speed is a performance camshaft engineered for naturally aspirated LS1, LS2, LS6, LQ4, and LQ9 engines, specifically those running cathedral-port cylinder heads. It features a 227/234 duration split with .600"/.600" lift and a 111 LSA, and a 3-bolt timing gear pattern. This camshaft provides a more aggressive idle sound compared to its boosted counterpart and is noted for its tuneability and a pleasant lope at idle. For optimal performance and drivability, this camshaft requires an aftermarket stall speed torque converter with a minimum rating of 2,800 RPM for automatic transmissions. The camshaft is compatible with engines from 1997-2013 and is best suited for 5.7L and 6.0L displacement engines with a desired compression ratio of 10.1:1 or higher. It operates effectively within a 2000-6600 RPM range. Installation considerations include the need for DOD/AFM delete kits on equipped engines and VVT delete kits for VVT engines. If your engine originally used a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit will be necessary. Recommended valve springs include PAC 1219 single beehive springs or TSP Dual .660" valvesprings, along with titanium retainers and specific pushrods. Some kit options also include gaskets for the timing cover, water pump, damper seal, and crankshaft damper bolt.
