The Cat Cams 7607822 camshaft is engineered to boost power and torque for performance-oriented street and dirt track vehicles. Key specifications include a duration of 272° on the intake and 264° on the exhaust, with a maximum valve lift of 11.00mm and a cam lift of 5.50mm. The lobe angle is 225°/217°, and the lift at Top Dead Centre (TDC) is 0.05mm for the intake and 0.40mm for the exhaust. This camshaft is constructed from billet forged steel for durability. This camshaft is specifically intended for use in BDB/BMJ/BUB (3.2L) VR6 engines equipped with VVT sprockets on both intake and exhaust. It is a direct replacement for OE part numbers "022 109 102A" (intake) and "022 109 101E" (exhaust). Installation requires the intake camshaft to be set at full retard and the exhaust camshaft at full advance. It is crucial to check valve-to-piston clearance after installation. For optimal performance, this camshaft often demands a carburetor or an adjustable engine management system, along with a rebuilt valve mechanism.
