High performance street/strip camshaft. Requires 9:1 compression, 2500+ stall converter, upgraded intake, gears, and headers. Produces a rough idle. COMP Cams Thumpr camshafts offer excellent horsepower gains and a broad torque curve, ideal for muscle cars and street rods. Features early intake valve opening and long exhaust durations for optimum overlap, resulting in a powerful, hard-hitting exhaust note. May require modifications for vacuum accessories like power brakes due to minimal engine vacuum. Designed for use only with valve train upgrades, including COMP Cams Valve Springs and roller rockers. Best suited with looser converters, more aggressive rear end gear ratios, and other performance engine modifications.
