Camshafts

The Tomei Poncam Type-R camshafts are engineered to provide a balanced performance increase across the entire RPM range for the Nissan SR20DET engine. Unlike aggressive racing cams that sacrifice daily driveability, these shafts focus on improving combustion efficiency and boost response, making them suitable for both street driving and drift applications. The design utilizes optimized valve timing, lift, and duration to ensure a stable idle and smooth power delivery from low to high RPMs. Technically, these camshafts feature a 258-degree duration and 11.50mm lift. Tomei has precisely set the valve timing and shifted the dowel pin to the optimal position, allowing for a drop-in installation that replaces factory shafts without requiring additional timing adjustments. They are particularly well-suited for setups utilizing bolt-on turbochargers, as they ensure sufficient exhaust gas flow to spool the turbine efficiently starting from low RPMs. This set is specifically intended for hydraulic lash adjuster-type SR20DET engines found in the S14 and S15 chassis. Please note that these are for hydraulic applications and are not compatible with solid-lifter head configurations.
