Overview

The Spoon Sports carbon bonnet is a lightweight replacement hood designed for the Honda Fit GK3, GK4, GK5, GP5, and GK6 models. Constructed from carbon fiber, it offers significant weight reduction, being up to half the weight of the factory hood. This reduction in front-end weight helps to greatly reduce understeer and improve the car's handling. The bonnet features a sturdy construction with molded-in hood latches, eliminating the need for separate bonnet pins.
Show original supplier description
The Spoon Sports carbon bonnet is engineered as a high-performance replacement for the factory hood on the Honda Fit GK3, GK4, GK5, GP5, and GK6. Crafted from carbon fiber, this component significantly reduces weight, potentially by up to half of the original hood's mass. By decreasing the vehicle's front weight bias, the Spoon carbon bonnet contributes to a marked improvement in handling characteristics, most notably by reducing understeer. Installation is streamlined due to the bonnet's robust construction and integrated hood latches, which negate the requirement for external bonnet pins. For long-term preservation and aesthetic integrity, it is advisable to apply a clear coat to protect the carbon fiber from potential UV ray discoloration. When preparing the bonnet for paint, it is crucial to perform a temporary fitment check. Avoid using heat sources like paint booths or heaters for drying; instead, allow the product to air dry naturally. In colder or more humid conditions, such as winter, ensure the entire product is dried gradually at a temperature not exceeding 40°C, and never apply heat to a single area, as this can lead to distortion.
