The Unitronic Carbon Fiber Intake System is meticulously engineered for the MK8 GTI featuring the 2.0TSI EVO4 engine, aiming to unlock its full performance potential. Its open element design also provides a more pronounced and engaging sound from your vehicle's turbocharger and diverter valve. Constructed with a 2/2 twill prepreg carbon fiber weave, this airbox offers a lightweight, durable, and resistant solution. The use of autoclave construction ensures a strong component free of resin voids, finished with a UV and heat resistant clear coat for longevity and a smooth surface. The system includes a 3-inch powdercoated aluminum intake tube, a multi-ply turbo inlet tube, the carbon fiber box, and a proprietary 3-inch dry cotton filter engineered for maximum airflow and debris protection. Installation is estimated to take approximately one hour with a difficulty rating of 1 out of 5, requiring minimal tools and experience. This intake system features an oversized airbox air inlet that, when combined with Unitronic’s Carbon Fiber Air Duct (sold separately), further increases airflow capacity. The airbox also includes a water drainage provision with open slots at the bottom.
