Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser

The RENNtech Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser is engineered to complement the front splitter and optimize the aerodynamics of the 197 - SLS AMG and 197 - SLS AMG GT models. Its primary function is to reduce drag and generate additional downforce by refining the flow of air beneath the vehicle and its exit into the ambient environment. However, please note that the installation of this rear diffuser will partially obscure the view of the rear backup camera. RENNtech offers an optional camera housing extension (Part # Aero:88.197.20.CAM) for those who wish to maintain the full viewing angle of the camera. Prepreg carbon fiber represents the pinnacle of carbon fiber manufacturing, offering a significant advantage over lower-cost wet-layup methods. This process involves pre-impregnating the fibers with resin, which is then frozen to prevent premature curing. The material is hand-laid into molds and cured under controlled temperatures, resulting in a laminate that is 20-30% stiffer and stronger than those produced with wet layup. This superior construction ensures that the components are not only visually appealing but also durable, resistant to cracking, warping, fading, and detachment, even at high speeds.
