Description

Carrillo connecting rods are made from a proprietary chrome, nickel, moly, vanadium alloy that meets VAR (vacuum arc re-melt ASTM standards). The heat treatment processes result in a UTS of 195,000 psi and a yield of 182,000 psi, while maintaining low notch-sensitivity and ductility. The rods are manufactured from oversized forgings to ensure proper grain flow and removal of potential inclusions. Each part undergoes multiple magnaflux inspections and Rockwell testing. A final shotpeen operation completes the part. Carrillo utilizes jointly designed fasteners made from H-11 tool steel or Multiphase™ material with a patented thread design.
