Carrillo connecting rods are precision-engineered from a proprietary chrome, nickel, moly, vanadium alloy, meeting all VAR ASTM standards. The material undergoes a mar-aged heat treatment, achieving an ultimate tensile strength of 195,000 psi and a yield of 182,000 psi while maintaining low notch-sensitivity and ductility. Each rod is manufactured from an oversized forging to ensure proper grain flow and eliminate surface imperfections. Critical dimensions are validated using CNC probing, and each part is magnafluxed twice and Rockwell tested to confirm heat treatment. A final shotpeen operation enhances durability. These rods utilize fasteners jointly designed by Carrillo, available in H-11 tool steel (220,000 UTS) or Multiphase™ (285,000 UTS), featuring a patented thread design and high dimensional integrity. Each lot is destructively sample tested for ultimate tensile strength and fatigue, ensuring flawless performance in racing and high-performance internal combustion engines.
