Cast Turbo Inlet

The COBB Cast Turbo Inlet is engineered as a robust upgrade for the factory turbo inlet found in the 2015-2021 Subaru WRX and 2014-2018 Forester XT. The OEM plastic component is known to be susceptible to cracking due to heat cycling, leading to difficult-to-diagnose air leaks. This COBB inlet, constructed from durable cast aluminum, directly replaces the failure-prone OEM part while offering a measurable airflow increase. This upgraded inlet features an expanded 70mm inlet inner diameter, a 5mm increase over stock, and an outlet that is 2mm larger than stock, specifically port-matched to the factory compressor inlet's 50mm size for optimal flow. It retains provisions for both stock and COBB Electronic Boost Control Solenoids, and includes threaded ports to accept factory-sized PCV and EVAP fittings. The brittle factory bypass valve (BPV) connection is replaced with a more durable, reinforced silicone coupler, and a captive o-ring on the turbocharger side guarantees a leak-free installation. Additionally, flats are integrated on the sides of the inlet for the convenient addition of auxiliary pressure or temperature sensors. It is confirmed to be compatible with the factory charge pipe and commonly used aftermarket bypass valves, such as those from GrimmSpeed or Perrin, provided they are designed as direct OEM replacements. Importantly, no additional ECU tuning is required after installing the COBB Cast Turbo Inlet, making it a simple yet effective upgrade. It is crucial to note that this turbo inlet is specifically designed for vehicles utilizing a bottom-mounted turbo setup, such as the FA20 engine found in the 2015-2021 WRX and 2014-2018 Forester XT. It will not fit 2018 STI models, which feature a top-mounted turbo setup.
