The Megan Racing LWT-ABE-MMX599 exhaust system is engineered to replace the factory muffler on the Mazda Miata MX-5 (1999-2005). Unlike OEM mufflers that use multiple chambers to dampen sound, potentially increasing backpressure and hindering performance, this system employs a straight-thru perforated glass-pack muffler. This design allows exhaust gases a more direct path, reducing backpressure and improving engine response and power. Constructed entirely from T-304 stainless steel, the LWT-ABE-MMX599 is built for durability and longevity, and it is backed by a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects. The system features a 60mm inner diameter and a 102mm outer diameter tip. This exhaust system is specifically designed for the Mazda Miata MX-5 1.8L models from 1999-2005, including the Mazdaspeed variant from 2004-2005. It is intended for Manual Transmission models only. For automatic transmission models from 1999-2003, users must measure the muffler flange bolt-hole spacing to ensure compatibility, as two different versions were supplied. Manual transmission vehicles have a bolt-hole spacing of 4.33" (110mm) center-to-center, while automatic transmissions typically have 3.46" (88mm). All Megan Racing exhaust and suspension products are intended for "closed course and off highway use only." Users should consult local laws regarding exhaust modifications for street legality and SMOG compliance. This system will alter the vehicle's exhaust sound; Megan Racing does not accept returns based on subjective sound preferences.
