Cat-Back Exhaust System

The IE Engineering IEEXDB2 is a valved catback exhaust system engineered to enhance the sound and aesthetics of the VW MK8 Golf R (2022-2024 with the 2.0T EA888 Gen 4 EVO engine). This system features a proprietary DroneTrap technology to cancel out unwanted drone, delivering deep rumbles at low RPMs and aggressive roars at high RPMs. Constructed from durable, corrosion-resistant T304L stainless steel with mandrel-bent piping, the IEEXDB2 ensures longevity and strength. The system boasts quad 4-inch slash-cut exhaust tips with a brushed, motorsport-inspired finish that can be depth-adjusted for a custom look. Durability is further enhanced by hand-TIG-welded joints, a stamped multi-wall muffler to prevent warping, reinforced hangers for secure mounting, bridged piping to distribute weight and reduce stress, and wide-width stretch clamps for leak-free connections. Functionality is seamless, allowing control of the exhaust volume through the factory drive select controls in your MMI system. In Comfort/Normal mode, valves remain closed, routing exhaust through the muffler for a tamer sound. Engaging Sport, Dynamic, or R modes opens the valves, bypassing the muffler for a more aggressive, unrestricted sound. Installation is designed to be DIY-friendly with an average time of 1-2 hours, requiring no permanent modifications. However, some users reported that a second person and an auto lift can make the process easier. Specific fitment is confirmed for the 2022-2024 VW MK8 Golf R equipped with the 2.0T EA888 Gen 4 EVO engine.
