Catch Can Kit for EA839 Engines

The 034Motorsport Catch Can Kit is engineered to upgrade the failure-prone PCV breather hose found on EA839 engines, offering a critical safety enhancement for all vehicles equipped with this powerplant. The factory PCV system utilizes internal check valves that are susceptible to premature failure due to high engine bay temperatures and the transition between vacuum and boost pressure. When these fail, excess crankcase pressure can build, potentially leading to oil leaks, fires, or engine damage. This kit replaces the OE breather hose with a re-engineered high-performance version and a high-capacity catch can. The kit features proprietary check valves capable of holding over 40+ PSI of pressure, with a durable synthetic rubber diaphragm for heat and chemical resistance on one side, and a nylon ball check valve for high boost applications on the other. These check valves are housed in large-diameter, 4-ply reinforced, fluorolined silicone hoses designed not to collapse under vacuum or boost pressure, and are molded to retain the factory engine cover. The billet aluminum catch can itself is designed with a baffle plate to trap crankcase oil deposits and vapors before they reach the turbocharger inlet and charge air system, significantly reducing carbon buildup on intake valves and preventing oil from entering the intake manifold. Installation is described as simple bolt-in. The kit includes a no-drill mounting bracket, all necessary installation hardware, valve cover breather fittings, the catch can assembly, two breather check valves, the reinforced silicone hose, and a catch can oil drain kit for service-free use. The integrated dipstick allows for easy level checks, and the drain line returns captured oil to the oil pan. This system ensures high flow crankcase ventilation, preventing pressurization, and is compatible with OEM and upgraded turbocharger inlets, while eliminating potential boost leaks at the OE plastic check valve housing. It is designed to be used with the OEM Factory Air Oil Separator and supports stock through Stage 3 power levels. This product is sold for racing use as well as use on vehicles not registered for on-highway use, and is not legal for use on highway or street vehicles.
