Description
The Chase Bays Oil Catch Can is a crucial modification for any engine, designed through extensive CFD analysis and real-world testing to prevent oil and carbon buildup in the intake system. This leads to maintained octane levels, improved performance from cleaner inlet air, and efficient crankcase venting. The unit is constructed from bead-blasted, Hard UV-Proof Anodized Signature Chase Bays Black 6061 aluminum, featuring a leak-proof threaded top and bottom sealed with an O-ring, making it suitable for extreme pressurized applications. All hardware is stainless steel.
Air-oil separation is optimized with an integrated stainless steel mesh filter that captures contaminants before they enter the tank. Advanced internal baffling ensures maximum separation of oil from the air before it exits through the outlet, maintaining full flow without return restriction. The catch can has an 8 fluid ounce (0.25 quart) oil capacity and features a knurled dipstick for easy monitoring and draining. A -4AN ORB port is located on the bottom for draining, with an optional petcock drain kit available for convenience.
Fittings are available in -10AN ORB or 5/8" Push-On Hose Barb, with Straight, 90º, and 90º L-fitting options. The "L" fitting is particularly useful for consolidating multiple valve cover outlets into a single catch can inlet, potentially eliminating the need for dual catch can setups on many engines up to 450-500hp. The catch can itself measures 5"x3" without fittings and 6.5"x3" with fittings. Mounting is facilitated by two M8x1.25 threaded holes on the back, and five different bracket designs are offered to ensure easy installation in various chassis.
Note that 10AN to Barb Push-On Hose Adapters are sold separately. A stainless steel Vent to Atmosphere Filter, threaded as 10AN ORB, is also available. The product is CARB approved.
