Category 4 Transmission

The SunCoast SC-68RFE-4-LC is a Category 4 transmission built for the 68RFE platform, designed to address its known deficiencies with a scientific approach. This custom-built transmission is engineered to handle over 950 horsepower. Key components include a new Suncoast V2 billet drum, which offers a 24% improvement in hydraulic clamping force and increased friction elements, along with a redesigned lip seal and increased wall thickness for rigidity. It also features a billet 2C piston that allows for an additional clutch, increasing surface apply area. The transmission includes a Suncoast Ducenti 200psi Shift Calibration Kit, a new Mopar OEM solenoid pack, and a deep Mag-Hytec pan with a Zero Cavitation filter kit, designed to prevent pump cavitation and allow higher fluid volume. Other upgrades include a billet flex plate, billet input shaft, and billet input and overdrive clutch hubs. The transmission also comes with a 68RFE Thrust Washer Kit, Thrust Bearing Kit, Complete Gasket and Sealing Kit, Spin-on Filter, Underdrive and Overdrive piston set, upgraded 2C Clutch Set, and an upgraded heavy-duty sprag. The 68RFE transmission, introduced in 2007 with the 6.7 Powerplant in the Dodge Ram, is a six-speed unit designed for improved horsepower and torque numbers compared to its predecessors. The SunCoast Category 4 transmission aims to provide a complete solution for enhancing the 68RFE's performance and durability.
