The Milltek Sport SSXM023 is a performance-oriented, large-bore downpipe designed to replace the restrictive factory unit on Gen2 MINI Cooper S models. Constructed from aerospace-grade type 304, non-magnetic stainless steel, this downpipe is built for longevity and resistance to discoloration. It features a 2.5-inch (63.5mm) pipe diameter, enlarged over stock to optimize gas flow and enhance performance without sacrificing mid-range torque. The system is specifically designed as a large-bore, de-cat (catless) configuration. This means it does not have a catalytic converter, which is crucial for maximum exhaust flow but also has significant implications for road legality and emissions testing. This product is intended for use exclusively with Milltek's Cat-Back exhaust systems and will not fit on a stock exhaust setup. Installation of the SSXM023 downpipe requires a stage 2 ECU remap. Due to the absence of a catalytic converter, this downpipe will not pass any emissions tests and is therefore intended for track-use only. Expect a check engine light, especially if other modifications are present.
