The Invidia HS15SWMDPO is a catless J-pipe/downpipe engineered for a 2015-2021 Subaru WRX, specifically for manual transmission models. Constructed from durable 304 stainless steel with a 76mm diameter and 1.5mm thickness, it features laser-cut cast steel flanges for leak-free reliability and long-term performance under high temperatures. Installation is a direct bolt-on process, requiring no modifications to the steering knuckle for right-hand drive vehicles. The design retains factory O2 sensor locations for compatibility while adding an extra bung for aftermarket wideband sensors, offering flexibility for tuning and monitoring. The catless design aims to maximize performance gains by reducing exhaust restrictions and turbulence, leading to potential increases in horsepower and torque, along with a reduction in turbo lag. However, installation of this aftermarket J-pipe necessitates custom ECU tuning. There is no guarantee against a Check Engine light due to the removal of the catalytic converter; to avoid this, retaining the stock J-pipe is recommended. This part is explicitly for manual transmission models and does not fit CVT models. It is also not compatible with the 2015-2021 WRX STI models, which have a different downpipe configuration. Invidia offers a limited lifetime warranty on structural welds, mufflers, and internals, though catalytic converters (if applicable to other models) have a 2-year warranty.
