CD-1 Ignition System Kit

The Daytona Sensors CD-1 Kit (Part # 102003) is a complete capacitive discharge ignition system that includes a CD-1 Coil. It's suitable for 4-6-8 cylinder race engines with a distributor and ideal for Street/Strip, Circle Track (Asphalt & Dirt), and Road Race applications. It delivers 135 mJ spark energy and allows digital setting of launch, burnout, and maximum RPM limits in 100 RPM steps (3,000 to 9,900 RPM for launch/burnout, 10,900 RPM for max). Features PC programmable advance, ranging from a simple RPM-based curve to a 3D timing map with boost proportional retard. It has built-in data-logging with 16 Mbit DataFLASH memory. Dedicated input terminals for launch RPM and manifold pressure are included, along with one general-purpose input and two general-purpose input/output terminals. Inputs can be programmed for high gear retard, burnout RPM limit, vehicle speed sensor, and throttle position sensor. Outputs can be programmed for RPM window switch, nitrous system activation, and multi-gear shift light functions. The CD-1™ features a highly efficient switching power supply (US Patents #6518733 and #6636021), drawing less than 5 amps at 8,000 RPM. It's rated for continuous operation at 8,500 RPM and 85° C (185° F). The unit is fully encapsulated, uses surface mount electronics, is waterproof, and highly resistant to vibration and shock. It utilizes an advanced 12-pin Deutsch connector for signal connections, and components are compact and lightweight.
