The Mobil Centaur XHP 461 excels in water-saturated environments, offering rust protection between long re-lubrication intervals. Its inherent EP properties provide a balance between wear protection and corrosion resistance, maintaining consistency and EP protection even with high levels of water contamination. The Mobil Centaur XHP 461 grease is a premium lubricant featuring advanced calcium sulfonate thickener technology. This technology provides inherent rust protection and extreme pressure (EP) capabilities, making it highly effective in challenging environments. It is specifically formulated to meet the rigorous lubrication needs of industrial equipment such as steel mills and paper machines. Compared to conventional soap-base thickeners, the calcium sulfonate in this grease offers superior performance in water-saturated conditions, ensuring rust protection over extended re-lubrication intervals. The inherent EP properties contribute to a balance of wear protection and corrosion resistance, even when exposed to water. Key features of the Mobil Centaur XHP 460 Series greases, including the XHP 461, include excellent extreme-pressure protection and load-carrying ability for equipment subjected to heavy and shock loading. It also offers excellent high-temperature oil bleed control and reliable bearing lubrication for operations up to 232°C (450°F), provided re-greasing intervals are managed properly. An advanced polymer additive package enhances resistance to water washout, and the grease has the ability to absorb free water without losing thickener consistency, leading to extended re-grease intervals and reduced grease consumption. It is sold in a 35.20 LB pail.
