The VF Engineering VFK15-01 supercharger kit is engineered with an "OEM+" philosophy, prioritizing longevity and precision for BMW E39 540i models equipped with M62/M62TU V8 engines. Each component is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum or custom-molded from high-grade polypropylene, ensuring a factory-level fit and finish. The system utilizes a dedicated serpentine belt drive with an active OEM tensioner to prevent belt slip, and incorporates a Bosch bypass valve for smooth off-throttle operation. High-flow fuel injectors are included to match the increased air volume, allowing the engine to operate safely within its internal limits for reliable daily driving or long-distance touring. Key features include CNC-machined, hard-anodized aluminum brackets for structural rigidity and vibration dampening, a Bosch bypass valve with an integrated overrun system, direct replacement high-capacity fuel injectors, custom-molded polypropylene air intake ducts, and a K&N high-flow air filter with a splash-resistant sock. The system is a centrifugal bolt-on type and is fully OBD-II compliant. The software is updated via an OBD-II port flash using a programming cable. The hardware features a stealth black powder coat/anodize finish. This supercharger system is specifically designed for the BMW E39 540i with M62 4.4L engines, intended for model years 1999-2003 (M62TU 4.4 liter V8 engine M7.2). It is important to note that this product is not for sale or use in the state of California on any pollution-controlled vehicle as per the California Air Resources Board. Post-installation, troubleshooting or diagnostics may be required, and components or sensors near their wear limits might need replacement.
