CHAMPION PLATINUM

The Champion 488 is a platinum power spark plug designed to reduce gap growth and lower voltage requirements, thereby minimizing misfires. Its thin center electrode and v-trimmed ground electrode enhance ignitability and reduce quenching, while a heat-active alloy maintains stable operating temperatures under varying engine loads.

This spark plug features a 14mm thread diameter, 1.25mm thread pitch, gasket seat type, and a 19mm reach. The center electrode is made of platinum with an extended projection, and the ground electrode is nickel with a multi-ground type and four quantity. It is a resistor-type plug.

Specifications include a 5/8" hex size, solid terminal type, and a gap of .063". It has a heat range of 9 and comes with torque specifications for both cast iron (26-30 lb. ft.) and aluminum (18-22 lb. ft.) applications. The plug is backed by a 3-year warranty and has a longevity of 40,000 miles.
