The Xantrex C40 is a PWM solar charge controller designed for managing and protecting off-grid battery systems. It is field configurable for 12V, 24V, or 48V operation and can function as a charge, diversion, or load controller. The controller utilizes a solid-state microprocessor for silent and reliable performance, employing three-stage pulse-width-modulated (PWM) charging to maximize battery life.

Key specifications include a 40 amp charging/load current, a maximum PV open circuit array voltage of 125Vdc, and a maximum peak current of 85 amps.
