The Motorcraft Engine Water Pump (PW-491) is engineered to provide original equipment performance and reliability, even in demanding conditions. Press tubes are coated with nickel zinc for improved housing connection and corrosion resistance, while powdered-metallic hub mating surfaces offer superior alignment without the need for machining. The impeller design is optimized for specific vehicle applications, and the pump includes precision bearings with ground shafts for extended life and performance. Bearing housings meet original equipment load requirements, and bearings are securely locked to minimize vibration from fan load and ensure long-term alignment. This specific unit is designed for diesel engines and replaces part number PW 491. It is intended for use with specific engine serial numbers: 6155637 and beyond for Indy-built engines, or 94581 and beyond for Huntsville-built engines. The Motorcraft Service Parts Warranty backs this water pump, offering 2 years with unlimited mileage and limited labor cost coverage, supported nationwide by Ford/Lincoln dealers and authorized distributors.
