Overview
This V8 454 7.4L engine features a displacement of 454 cubic inches and includes block casting numbers 959, 445, 286, 289, 321, and 293. The remanufacturing process involves over 150 steps, including magnafluxing, boring, honing, and line-honing of engine blocks, precision surfacing of blocks and heads, and machining for three-angle valve seats. Crankshafts are stress-relieved and precision ground, while camshafts are ground or replaced with new ones. Each engine is tested for compression, oil pressure, leaks, and general operating condition.
