Description

The ATK ENGINES HP42M is a Chevrolet 540 cubic inch (8.8L) 660+ horsepower "Base" Crate Engine. It is designed for street/strip applications, featuring a lopey idle and marginal vacuum for power brakes. This engine is built with a Dart Big M 4-bolt main block, Manley 4340 forged internal balance crankshaft and H-beam rods, and forged 10.1:1 compression pistons. It utilizes a hydraulic roller camshaft, ATK HP aluminum cylinder heads, and Howards billet aluminum 1.7 roller rockers. The engine also includes a Moroso 7qt street/strip oil pan and a Melling high volume oil pump.
