CHEVY 489/496 SHRT BLK

The ATK HP98 is a Chevrolet 350 Base Engine producing 345 HP and 400 TQ. It utilizes an OE 4-bolt main block from 1987-2000 with a 1-piece rear seal. Features include a 4.040 x 3.480 bore/stroke (350 CI displacement), OE reground crankshaft (external balance rear, internal balance front), OE powder metal 5.7” rods, and hypereutectic pistons for 9.1:1 compression. It has a hydraulic roller camshaft (220/224 @50, .495in/.502ex, 110LSA) with a double roller timing chain. Cylinder heads are ATK cast iron 76cc/165cc with 1.94/1.50 valves and stamped steel 1.5 ratio rocker arms. The engine is equipped with a rear sump 5qt oil pan (check specific vehicle notes) and a Melling high volume oil pump.
