The Choate Performance Engineering "Workhorse" engine is a remanufactured 6.0L Powerstroke long block designed for heavy-duty applications, providing maximum durability and reliability for regular heavy hauling and strenuous towing. It boasts 600+ HP capability and features numerous upgrades over the "Daily Driver" model. These upgrades include O-Ringed Heads, a Billet Flex Plate, and Coated, Fly Cut, and Delipped Pistons for enhanced thermal resistance and durability. The engine also incorporates a Stage 2 Camshaft and Chromoly Pushrods for increased strength in the valvetrain and drivetrain.

Choate Performance Engineering employs a meticulous machining process for each engine. The engine block undergoes CNC blueprint machining to ensure perfect dimensions, precise tolerances, and optimal alignment, including decking, diamond honing, and line honing. Cylinder heads are fully machined and enhanced in-house, including magnafluxing and pressure testing, precision decking, o-ring installation for improved sealing under high cylinder pressures, and optimized valve seats. The rotating assembly is fully balanced to eliminate vibration and maximize engine longevity, involving precise balancing of the crankshaft, connecting rods, and weight-matched pistons.
