Chopacabra Camshaft for 6.0L LS Cathedral Port Engines

The Texas Speed & Performance Chopacabra camshaft is specifically engineered for 6.0L LS-based engines equipped with cathedral-port cylinder heads. This camshaft aims to deliver an aggressive, choppy idle sound and robust midrange power without demanding extensive valvetrain upgrades. It is an ideal choice for truck and street applications where a distinctive idle and enhanced performance are desired. Key specifications include a duration at .050" of 220° intake and 228° exhaust, with a lift of .550" on both intake and exhaust. The camshaft features a 108° LSA and a 106° ICL, contributing to its maximum overlap design and characteristic lope. It is compatible with stock 6.0L LS engines and various cathedral-port cylinder heads such as 317, 243, and 799. For proper operation, LS6-style or better valve springs are required. While compatible with a stock torque converter, a 2600+ stall is recommended for optimal performance. The "Chopacabra – Cathedral Port Edition" has been dyno-tested on a 370 CID LQ4-based build with 10:1 compression, stock 317 cathedral port heads, and LS6-style valve springs, producing strong gains and an aggressive sound. This camshaft is noted to be compatible with 6.0L V8 engines from model years 2001 through 2019. Additionally, it is stated to be legal for use in most states, however, it is not legal for sale or use in California.
