CHOPacabra Camshaft for Gen 3/4 LS 4.8L-6.0L

The Texas Speed CHOPacabra is a performance camshaft designed to provide significant power gains and an aggressive, snarling idle for 1999–2013 GM Gen 3 and 4 LS-based truck engines. With a 214/222 duration at .050" and .550"/.550" lift, it uses proprietary lobe profiles that allow it to run with factory GM LS6 beehive valve springs, offering a cost-effective path to improved engine performance. This camshaft features a 3-bolt timing gear pattern and is optimized for use with factory torque converters, making it a drop-in friendly performance upgrade. It is intended for engines with a compression ratio of 9.5:1 or higher and operates within an RPM range of 1200-6500. For 6.2L engines and 2007-later rectangle port 6.0L engines, a dual valve spring kit or PAC 1218 springs (or similar) is recommended due to heavier valve weights. Installation notes are critical: DOD/AFM-equipped engines require a DOD/AFM delete kit, and VVT-equipped engines require a VVT delete kit. Furthermore, engines originally equipped with a 1-bolt camshaft will require a 3-bolt conversion kit for proper fitment. Professional tuning is required to achieve the expected performance results.
