Chopacabra Camshaft for GM LS Cathedral Port Engines

Designed specifically for engines with cathedral port cylinder heads, this camshaft optimizes mid-range and top-end performance while remaining street-friendly. Under dyno testing, this camshaft demonstrated gains of 67 HP and 26 ft-lb of torque at the crank on a stock Gen IV 5.3L engine with stock 862 heads and a TBSS intake. Technically, the Chopacabra features an advertised duration of 214/222, .550/.550 lift, a 108 LSA, and 106 ICL. It requires a minimum compression ratio of 9.5:1 and must be paired with GM LS6 Beehive valve springs. A key advantage of this design is that it is compatible with factory torque converters and does not require rear gear upgrades for most applications. Installation requires attention to specific engine configurations. For 1-bolt cam engines, a 3-bolt conversion kit is required and sold separately.
