Chromoly Steel Axles (500 HP Rated)

The Insane Shafts 500HP Axles are a high-performance drive shaft upgrade built for demanding street and track applications. Constructed from forged chromoly steel, these axles undergo a proprietary annealing and heat treatment process that refines the steel's grain structure, significantly increasing tensile strength and fatigue resistance. This robust construction ensures the axles can handle high torque without twisting or bending, providing a durable solution for powerful builds. Each set includes both passenger and driver side axles, featuring removable ABS rings that come pre-installed on the axles for 2007-2011 Honda Civic Type R (FN2) and 2006-2011 Honda Civic Si models equipped with ABS. If your application does not use ABS, these rings can be removed. New spindle nuts are included in the kit; it is critical to use these new nuts and torque them to the proper specification during installation to prevent the axles from backing out of the hubs. These axles are specifically designed for manual transmission 8th generation Honda Civic Si (FA5 sedan and FG2 coupe) and 2007-2011 Civic Type R (FN2) models only. They are not compatible with automatic transmission vehicles. Insane Shafts recommends these axles for high-performance turbo builds exceeding 300 wheel horsepower, especially for cars that experience hard launches or track use, as they are built to withstand power levels up to 500 wheel horsepower. It is also advised to inspect and replace worn intermediate shafts and wheel bearings during installation to avoid future complications.
