Overview

The ATK Engines T2555AB is a remanufactured transmission assembly for the A500 transmission family. This unit is completely disassembled, cleaned, and media blasted. All internal parts are inspected for wear or damage and replaced as needed, along with all bushings. The friction components are upgraded to heavy-duty parts, and drum assemblies are checked for proper clearance. Seals, O-rings, and gaskets are all replaced, and solenoids are tested and replaced if they fail duty cycle tests.

Internal wiring harnesses are checked and replaced as necessary. Valve bodies are disassembled, cleaned, measured for wear, and any worn bores are machined. Completed valve bodies are tested for proper operation before the transmission is assembled. End plays are set, and fasteners are torqued to specification. Every transmission is dynamometer tested to ensure proper pressures and shift quality, with upshifts and downshifts checked against preset parameters. Torque converter stall speed and lockup, as well as the park locking mechanism, are also verified on the dyno.
