The Michelin City Grip 2 is the next generation scooter tire, designed to offer extraordinary all-season traction combined with impressive longevity. It is engineered with silica-based compounds and shark tooth sipes that provide a very high level of grip, even on wet or slippery surfaces such as painted lines. This tire is built for improved longevity, particularly beneficial for heavy commuting. The MICHELIN City Grip 2 is stated to deliver even more mileage than its proven predecessor, according to internal testing conducted in July 2019. It has been recognized as a top choice by scooter manufacturers, with over 20 standard fitments across prestigious brands. Performance data indicates superior wet grip, with claims of better wet traction and shorter stopping distances on wet surfaces. These claims are supported by internal tests: one showing an average of 2.92 seconds faster lap times on a wet track compared to Pirelli Angel Scooter Tires, and another demonstrating an average of 1.7 meters shorter stopping distance in wet braking tests. The tire is also an Original Equipment (OE) fitment for models like the Peugeot Metropolis 400, various Piaggio Beverly and Sprint models, and Yamaha X-Max 125 & 300 MY 2020.
