The Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit is engineered to address the heat-soaking limitations of the stock intercooling system in the 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R. This kit significantly enhances cooling efficiency, allowing your CTR to maintain its performance under demanding conditions. The core boasts a substantial 4.7-inch thickness, resulting in a 169% increase in volume and a 189% rise in external fin surface area for superior heat dissipation. Constructed with a robust bar-and-plate design, the intercooler core minimizes pressure drop while maximizing heat transfer. It features sleek cast aluminum end tanks that replace the stock plastic for improved durability and airflow direction. The associated piping has also been upgraded; the cold-side utilizes 2.5-inch mandrel-bent aluminum, and the hot-side, along with other sections, is replaced with 5-layer heat-resistant silicone to ensure reliability and prevent boost leaks. This comprehensive system is available with a silver or black intercooler and your choice of wrinkle black or wrinkle Rallye Red piping. This direct-fit kit installs with medium difficulty and comes with Mishimoto's Lifetime Warranty for peace of mind. It offers documented power gains of up to 10 whp and 10 wtq, with a significant temperature drop of 50F under stock tuning conditions. The kit is CARB EO# D-759-12 compliant.
