The BOE Clam Hinge 2.0 is a rear clamshell tilt kit designed to allow easy access to the engine bay. It enables the entire rear clam to be tilted up and out of the way in a matter of minutes.

The BOE Clam Hinge 2.0 is a popular aftermarket upgrade that allows Lotus owners to tilt the entire rear clam up and out of the way for improved engine bay access. This kit has been refined over the years into version 2.0, featuring an improved clam support brace and rear diffuser brace. The kit allows for a one-person operation, with the tilting process taking as little as 2-3 minutes once installed. Installation, while requiring only basic hand tools, is estimated to take a full day and an extra set of hands. This kit is compatible with all Toyota 2ZZ-GE 4-cylinder powered Elise and Exige models. However, it will not fit Rover-powered S2 or S1 Elise and Exige vehicles. The standard kit includes a battery relocation tray compatible with Odyssey PC625, Braille, and Deka batteries. For Exige owners, there are additional considerations, such as removing sidescoops, the boot latch cable, and the hardtop when tilting the clam. The rear panel eliminator is powder coated black and does not work with the stock exhaust, presenting an opportunity to upgrade to an aftermarket system.
