These Gator brand clamps from COMP Cams are produced using a stainless steel continuous band with extruded, asymmetrical threads for reliable performance. The edges of the band are rolled to prevent them from damaging the hose, which is especially important on soft, vulnerable silicone hoses. An asymmetrical (offset) gearbox is designed to remain stationary as the clamps are tightened to prevent movement over the hose. The combination of the asymmetrical gearbox and the extruded threads provides an even clamping force over the surface of the hose, ensuring proper sealing with minimal torque. Gator brand clamps can hold up to 3.7 ft.-lbs. (5 Nm) of torque; conventional clamps strip and fail at this torque. They can be installed using a flat blade screwdriver, a metric socket wrench, or the Gator brand flexible clamp tool for maximum torque potential.
