The Hard Dog Deuce roll bar is a chassis enhancement for the Mazda Miata, offering a blend of protection and classic styling inspired by Cobra roll bars. This is a genuine Hard Dog product, not just a cosmetic piece, featuring two hoops that extend about 18 inches above the rear parcel shelf and are supported by a rear brace. A solid multi-point mounting system, concealed beneath the rear deck, ensures the Deuce provides substantial strength. Its design allows it to be positioned far back, preventing interference with seat movement. However, due to its lower height and the absence of a full-width hoop, it may not be suitable for all track day organizations, as a helmet might not fit below the bar's top edge. It is advised to check with local track day groups for specific requirements. This roll bar is compatible with all NA and NB Miata models, regardless of top type or rear window material. A specific exclusion exists for the center-braced version of the Deuce, which will not fit with Robbins or Duetto soft tops featuring a zip-out glass window. The side-braced version is compatible with these tops. The current production bars are powder coated black. Installation may require specialized tools like 90-degree drills and spot weld cutters, and careful attention is needed when cutting the carpet for a precise fit around the mounting points.
