The Zaklee Corp. Clear Cam Gear Cover is designed as a direct replacement for the factory upper timing belt cover on Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4 through 8 models, spanning from 1996 to 2005. Constructed from durable polycarbonate, this clear cover offers the significant advantage of allowing for immediate visual inspection of the timing belt, timing marks, and adjustable cam gears without requiring disassembly. This product is proudly designed and manufactured in America. Installation requires careful attention: thread all bolts before tightening and only hand-tighten them. The use of a small amount of mild thread locker is acceptable. It is crucial not to overtighten the fasteners, as this can compress the brass sleeve and lead to cracking of the plastic cover. Cleaning should be done with water and mild, non-ammonia soap to maintain clarity and prevent damage.
