Due to the increased load capacity of the Tri-Metal design, it is a suitable upgrade from Bi-Metal engine bearings.

The Clevite 77 P-Series Main Bearings, part number MS1277P, are designed for high-revving Chrysler 413 and 440 engines manufactured between 1966 and 1980. These bearings feature higher eccentricity and a high crush factor to handle the high-load factors and distortion common in such engines. They are constructed with steel backings and extra-thin overlays to prevent overlay fatigue. For improved lubrication, the oil grooves on most applications extend completely around both halves of the bearing. This specific set is for standard size applications.
