Overview

The BE Bearings BE-S65 is a set of custom-made connecting rod bolts designed for BMW factory connecting rods. Manufactured by ARP, these bolts utilize ARP2000® material for high strength and durability.

Designed with specific torque specifications to ensure minimal distortion of the connecting rod's big end bore, these bolts have been rigorously measured and verified to meet ARP's standards. They offer a tensile strength of 220,000 PSI and a yield strength of 200,000 PSI.

The BE-Clevite Connecting Rod Bearing Set is engineered for the BMW E9X M3 S65 V8 engine, offering an alternative to the factory rod bearings. Developed with Clevite to BE Bearing specifications, these bearings replace Genuine BMW part numbers 11247841703 and 11247841702. The original BMW bearings are noted for having insufficient clearance, which can lead to premature wear and potential engine failure. Unlike the factory's tin-aluminum construction, these BE bearings feature a tri-metal "F" series design coated with Silver Oxide. This advanced coating offers superior load capacity (30% more), better embeddability, and improved performance in low oil and boundary conditions compared to the original PTFE coating. These bearings are specifically designed with extra clearance to address the factory BMW rod bearing flaw and are optimized for use with factory 10W60 weight oils. The standard size is intended for use with a factory crankshaft that has not been machined. The "F" series design ensures a stronger bearing capable of withstanding higher horsepower and torque loads, while also being more tolerant of foreign particles in the oil. This updated design has undergone extensive development and is noted to be the same bearing design used in Dodge Hellcat engines. Optional ARP BE Bolts (BE-CRB50-S65) are available for purchase separately to complement the rod bearing set.
