Clevite Pontiac V8 421-428-455 1967-1976 Main Bearing Set

Clevite P-Series main bearings are the oldest members of the Clevite 77 bearing family, intended for high-revving engines. They feature higher eccentricity and a high crush factor to compensate for high-load factors and distortion. These bearings are constructed of tri-metal cast copper lead with a steel back for support, a cast copper lead lining, and an electroplated babbit overlay on the running surface. Most applications have oil grooves extending all the way around both halves for better oiling. They are designed to provide conformability, embedability, slipperiness, and fatigue resistance superior to original equipment and competitive bimetal bearings.
