Clutch Masters 82-83 Toyota Supra 2.8L Twin-Disc Clutch Kit w/ Aluminum Flywheel

The Clutch Masters FX725 is a 7.25" (184mm) Twin Disc clutch, the ultimate in twin disk performance for drag racing applications with smaller bell-housings. Developed from decades of drag racing experience, its minimal rotational mass makes it less ideal for street use, but improved friction materials allow for occasional street driving. Designed to handle tremendous horsepower and torque while maintaining reasonable pedal pressure for track operation. The cover assembly is machined from billet aluminum and Type 3 hard anodized, offering approximately 25% more tensile strength than competitors' cast units. This billet construction eliminates flex (only .003" vs. .030" in cast/stamped units), ensuring consistent and confident clutch operation by directing all movement to the diaphragm for engagement/disengagement. The strong covers also result in greater clamping force for easy driving and efficient power transfer. A unique feature is the QR (Quick Release) System, which incorporates three spring-loaded bolts for even, smooth engagement/disengagement and reduces internal clutch noise/chatter by up to 50%. Flywheels are application-specific, available in aluminum or steel. Aluminum flywheels are machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum to meet SFI spec 1.2 for NHRA, NDRA, IDRC, IHRA, SCCA, and NASA competitions, and are Type 3 hard coat anodized for durability, including a replaceable insert. Steel flywheels are machined from 1045 billet cores and black oxide treated for rust prevention.
