Clutch Masters 97-03 BMW 540 4.4L E39 FX400 6-Puck Clutch Kit

The FX400 System utilizes the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a custom, extremely durable, Sprung Ceramic disc. This is an ultimate extreme duty street and/or road/drag racing system, available in a 6 or 8 ceramic puck configuration. The 6-puck configuration is more aggressive, while the 8-puck is less aggressive. The sprung hub design offers moderate dampening in high-torque applications, making it more street-friendly than solid or rigid designs. This disc is engineered for outstanding holding capacity and rapid heat dissipation. The FX400/HDC6 ceramic paddle design provides quick and rapid engagement but may cause clutch chatter, which might not be ideal for street-driven vehicles due to its solid (no Marcel) friction rivet design. To mitigate this, premium ceramic friction material is used. Ceramic-based clutch discs are designed to increase holding capacity and improve durability, not necessarily life expectancy, and are generally not recommended for stock or near-stock vehicle applications due to harsh engagement and higher slipping tendency.
