The GK Tech GT86-CSPR is a clutch pedal spring kit engineered to enhance the driving experience by replacing the stock clutch pedal return spring. The factory spring is often described as overly stiff, leading to a soft and unnatural clutch pedal feel. This kit provides two springs with distinct rates, enabling drivers to select the tension that best suits their preference for a more direct and mechanical engagement. The kit comes with two springs, allowing for a personalized tuning experience to achieve the desired clutch pedal feel. This modification aims to make the clutch engagement more predictable and satisfying for manual transmission vehicles. Installation notes indicate that for Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles, the pedal assembly must be removed. However, for Left-Hand Drive (LHD) vehicles, installation can be performed more easily without removing the assembly. The process may involve contorting into the footwell, and while it can typically be completed within approximately two hours, specialized tools like needle-nose pliers and a small flathead screwdriver may be beneficial. The kit is confirmed to fit a wide range of Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota GT86/GR86 models, including specific Forester, Impreza, Legacy, and WRX/STI variants.
