CM SHIFTER GM 4L60 CHROME 32' SINGL

The GM 4L60E is an evolution of the Turbo-Hydramatic 700R4, introduced in 1993 for trucks, vans, and SUVs, and in 1994 for rear-wheel-drive passenger cars. It replaced the TH350 and offers lower gear ratios, an improved valve body, a 4th gear (overdrive), and a lockup torque converter. It's a popular choice for street performance and retrofitting, capable of handling 400-700 HP with modifications. Significant updates in 1996 included a bolt-on bellhousing and a six-bolt tail shaft, making 1996 and newer units not interchangeable with previous models. In 2001, the 4L65E was introduced as an HD version with increased torque capacity and strengthened components like a five-pinion planetary carrier, better 3-4 clutch, improved input shaft, and deeper pan, making it desirable for performance applications. It has a cast aluminum alloy case, weighs 146 lbs dry, and requires 8.4-11.4 quarts of Dexron III or VI fluid. Compatible with Chevrolet 90-degree "Small Block" & "Big Block" patterned I6, V6, and V8 engines.
