Coilover Conversion Engine Cage

The Solo Motorsports Coilover Conversion Engine Cage is engineered to streamline the transition of your 1980-1997 Ford Bronco or F-Series truck to a coilover front suspension system. This conversion kit replaces the original coil buckets and springs, aiming to provide a smoother ride by integrating coilovers. Constructed from robust 1.75”x .120 DOM seamless tubing and 3/16″ steel plate, the engine cage is designed to align with factory holes for precise initial placement before welding. Approximately 80% of the cage is pre-welded in a fixture, with the remaining 20% requiring on-truck welding, specifically attaching frame plates and lower shock mounts to the Dana 44 beams. Each kit includes a easily removable 3-bolt flanged crossbar, allowing for engine access when needed. The primary suspension utilizes a 2.5” King coilover shock, with provisions for additional shock tabs to accommodate a 2.5” smooth-body or bypass shock for enhanced suspension control. When paired with Solo Motorsports' Dana 44 Cut & Turned beams and 1.25” Heimed Extended Radius Arms, expect up to 15” of wheel travel with 35″ tires (without fiberglass fenders) or up to 19″ of travel with 4 1/2″ over beams and fiberglass fenders. This is a partially weld-it-yourself kit, requiring proper suspension cycling and professional welding for optimal performance and safety. The engine cage must be welded directly to the frame.
