Cold Air Intake

The GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake system is engineered for Subaru WRX, STI, and Forester XT models from 2008-2014 (WRX/STI) and 2009-2013 (Forester XT). This intake utilizes a unique hybrid design, blending the benefits of cold air and short ram intakes while mitigating their drawbacks. It features a custom reusable high-flow air filter with an integrated velocity stack for smoother airflow and is proudly made in the USA. The aluminum heat shield is laser cut, CNC bent, and powder-coated for durability. The MAF flange and air straightener are machined from 6061 aluminum, ensuring precise MAF sensor readings that mimic the factory configuration. The intake tube is custom bent to minimize restriction and bends. Installation is designed to be straightforward, typically taking around 30 minutes, with written and video guides available. However, this intake requires tuning as it is not compatible with the factory tune or off-the-shelf maps. Dyno testing demonstrated significant gains, with one test showing up to an additional 21whp at peak and 30whp earlier in the powerband when compared to another popular intake on a recommended Cobb Stage 2 OTS map, though professional tuning is recommended for optimal results.
