Cold Air Intake System

The Alta Performance AMP-INT-201 cold air intake system is engineered to reduce inlet air temperatures, leading to a cooler and denser air charge that can increase horsepower and torque. The system's components are crafted for optimal performance and durability. The cold air box is precision-formed from laser-cut aluminum sheet metal, then CNC bent and finished with a durable black texture powdercoating for an OEM appearance and long-term protection. The included high-flow foam filter utilizes an open-cell design for multi-layer filtration, trapping dirt effectively without significantly reducing airflow or horsepower as it gets dirty. Complementing these parts is a smooth-finished silicone inlet hose that connects the airbox to the throttle body, promoting increased air velocity and eliminating turbulence that is common with the factory's corrugated hose. This larger diameter hose also supports the demands of your supercharger at all boost levels. The ALTA Cold Air Intake has been shown to provide a gain of 10-12 WHP. The filter elements are washable and reusable, made from foam that offers superior performance with minimal airflow restriction and excellent dust-holding capacity. The intake system is available in black or red texture powder coating for enhanced protection and aesthetic appeal. This intake system is specifically designed for the MINI Cooper R50/R52/R53 models, including the Cooper S and JCW variants, from the years 2002-2007. Specifically, it fits the R53 chassis (2D Hatch) with the W11B16 1.6L engine in the Base model configuration.
