The HSP Diesel 602-HSP is a cold air intake system engineered for the 2017-2019 L5P Duramax equipped Chevrolet and GMC trucks. The factory intake on these L5P Duramax engines is identified as a performance bottleneck, limiting the power output of this engine. The HSP Diesel intake directly addresses this by providing a more efficient air delivery system. Central to its performance is a metal, mandrel-bent intake tube. This tube features smooth, consistent bends that minimize air turbulence and maximize flow into the engine and turbocharger, ensuring the engine receives the air it demands for peak operation. Testing has indicated performance gains of up to 20HP on average. The system is a cleanable filter design and offers powder coating options for a customized aesthetic. It comes with all necessary hardware for installation, including various bolts, retainers, rivets, a reducer boot, T-bolt clamps, a 4.5-inch filter, heatshield box pins, grommets, and trim seal. A special note regarding fitment: This cold air intake exclusively fits the 2017-2019 L5P engines, even though some VIN codes may be shared with other years. This is due to subtle variations in the engine bay design across model years. Therefore, it is crucial to confirm the specific year of your truck before ordering. The L5P engine code is identified by the 8th character of the VIN, and the truck's year is indicated by the 10th VIN character.
